Chhattisgarh State Assembly will hold a special session for a day on October 2 to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Speaker Charandas Mahant announced it during his valedictory address before adjourning the House sine die. The monsoon session of the Assembly was held from July 12 to 19. The members will recall the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi and pay tributes. On the occasion, the dates for winter session will also be announced, the Speaker said.
