A SpiceJet flight from Guwahati to Mumbai made an emergency landing at Swami Vivekananda Airport Mana on Thursday.
According to Airport Director, Rakesh Sahay, the SpiceJet flight (6481) was going to Mumbai from Guwahati. One of the passenger, developed medical complication when the flight was on Chhattisgarh air space ande as Raipur was the nearest airport, it made an emergency landing here. The Raipur ATC was contacted after which the permission for emergency landing was given.
After the landing at 2.15 PM, the patient Jitendra Shinde who had some breathing trouble was shifted to an ambulance kept ready. The patient was rushed to Raipur Medical College and was admitted there, he said.
The flight had 175 passengers. It’s now stranded at Raipur as this category flight is not operated from the Airport here. The push-back equipment is being brought from Delhi, which is expected to reach through Vistara flight at 8.00 PM. After which the flight will take off for Mumbai, stated Airport Director.
