Accusing State administration of lousy investigation of issues related to transport, the president of City Bus Seva Union, Vijay Vardhan Dandriyal said that he will be filing a formal complaint about the issue with the office of Chief Minister.
He alleged that in earlier three complaints he had filed in the office of Prime Minsiter, the Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh was instructed by PMO to investigate in the matters, but till date no concrete steps have been taken. Complainant Vijay Vardhan Dandriyal said, “The first complaint is about the Regional Transport Office (RTO) issuing stage carriage permits to few contractual Tata Magic vehicles operating in Dehradun city against the rules.
On March 22, 2017, I filed a complaint with PMO which then forwarded the complaint letter to the chief secretary here, but no actions were taken. Again on September 21, 2017, I complained about the matter, PMO once again forwarded it to chief secretary, but to no avail.”
He further added, “The second complaint I filed was on January 15, 2018 in which we complained about the city bus that was seized by district police citing the violation of Motor Vehicle Act on September 30, 2016.
This also was done against the rules; the said bus is still at police line in condemned condition. The third complaint was filed on November 19, 2018.The transport department recommended that the three-wheeler vehicles with the carrying capacity of six passengers and one driver can take seven passengers and one driver,
but the Government institution ARAI, Pune stated that it had not issued any such certificate. If the orders of PMO are not being followed then how can a common citizen expect justice?”
