Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Thursday said the State Government will work to promote Haryanvi culture and heritage of rural area, which will further help the artists to bring their handcrafts in the mainstream.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the State Government's goal is to rejuvenate the folk traditions so that the coming generations can also get to know about the Haryanvi art and culture.
Speaking after visiting the Heritage Village at Purushottampura Bagh, Brahmasarovar in Kurukshetra, Chautala said the culture of Haryana is unique, adding that such events play an important role in developing the art of rural artists.
Chautala visited the Virasat Heritage where is inquired about dari weaving, chariot making, cot making, phuljari making and fabric dyeing.
He also sought suggestions from artists to develop this art. He encouraged the artists at the Virasat Heritage and bought dolls made of clothes and other things.
Convener of Virasat Heritage Maha Singh Poonia briefed Chautala about the items displayed at Virasat Heritage. The artist participating at the Virasat Heritage gave a cultural performance.
