Taking cognisance of the upcoming Ayodhya verdict, Police Headquarters have sent necessary directions to all districts. Dehradun police has also started taking precautions by taking all the possible outcomes and their probable reactions into account.
Director General (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar said, “All districts have been put on alert. They have been asked to take extra precautions in sensitive areas. Mostly those places have been kept under categories of sensitive areas which consist of mixed population. Border areas are also being checked thoroughly. Social media activities are also being checked. It is our appeal to the general public to show restraint.”
Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said. “We are taking every precaution from our level. Considering the different possible outcomes, we have made strategies and plan for every probable reaction.”
It is pertinent to mention here that with the Ayodhya verdict being a sensitive issue, leaders of both Hindu and Muslim communities have been asked to reiterate to their members and supporters to make sure that no undesirable activity is done during and after the announcement of the verdict, which in return can spark communal tension. Even celebratory processions will be prohibited.
