State saw all round development due to ‘double engine’: Trivedi

BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Sudhanshu Trivedi on Tuesday exuded confidence that the ruling party will win the year end Assembly election with thumping majority as due to various Centre and State-centric schemes Jharkhand is witnessing progress at all fronts.

Trivedi, one of the BJP most vocal leaders seen on the television screens defending party’s stand was in State Capital for participating in the BJP Buddhijivi Prakoshth (intellectual cell) meet.

Talking to media persons he said, “I am visiting State after a gap. I am seeing the progress and development the State under the able-leadership of Chief Minister Raghubar Das has witnessed. Jharkhand’s growth and development has been acknowledged by even United Nation agencies.”

He said, “As per United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report, Jharkhand performed the best across in multidimensional poverty alleviation as the poverty in State reduced from 74.9 per cent to 46.6 per cent between 2005-06 and 2015-16.” The BJP leader claimed that this has been attained due to double engine government at the Centre and State.

Highlighting some the State schemes which have brought turnaround in State infrastructure, he said, “The State Government has moved a step further in successful implementation of centre schemes such as Jharkhand is only State in country which is providing double cylinder along with cooking stove to beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme. Also the State has implemented the Aysuhman Bharat schemes in planned way through which around 57 lakh families are benefitted.”

He also said that power connectivity in State has improved as most of the areas in State have power connection. Those areas where electricity has not reached, power is provided through solar energy.

He also said that dynastic politics has come to end in country due people reposing faith on BJP Government.

The BJP leader flanked by Hazaribag MP and formerly minister of state for finance, Jayant Sinha and BJP State general secretary Deepak Prakash tried to defend Government stand on slow economy and others.

On the question that noble laureate and Indian-American Abhijit Banerjee’s remark that Indian economy is doing very badly, Jayant Sinha who had earlier held the post of minister of finance said, “The economic depression in Country is due to global slowdown, but the finance ministry has introduced several measures to strengthened economy and the result of these steps will be visible soon.”

Indian-American Abhijit Banerjee, who jointly won the 2019 Nobel Economics Prize with his wife Esther Duflo and Harvard's Michael Kremer, had also criticised India’s currency note swap programme called demonetisation saying that the pain would be much greater than was initially anticipated.

He was also one of the advisors to Congress on its ambitious NYAY scheme, proposed ahead of 2019 general elections.
