State to hold event to boost employment for youth

In line with the priority accorded to provision of employment opportunities to the youth, a programme-Yuva Uttarakhand-towards employment and entrepreneurship will be organised on March 6 at Parade Ground. The event is being organised to provide better employment opportunities to the youth. Chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review details of this programme.

Various committees were formed for the organisation of the programme in the meeting. The youth arriving at the venue will be provided information by the Chief Minister and subject experts about the employment generation schemes, policies and employment opportunities in the State.

Through lectures and short films, the visitors will also be informed about departmental schemes and programmes for encouraging self employment through tourism, agriculture, entrepreneurship, cooperative and other sectors.

In addition to this, stalls will also be set up by various departments to inform the visitors about the schemes and programmes being undertaken in different spheres. Further, the investors who have established or are in the process of establishing undertakings following MoUs signed during the Investors Summit held last October will also provide information to the youth about their respective projects.

It was decided in the meeting that the CM’s secretary Radhika Jha will contact the subject experts. She informed that in the inaugural session, the CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and subject experts will address about 10,000 youth. Sectoral sessions will be held after the inaugural session.

A monitoring and programme coordination committee headed by the Dehradun district magistrate was also formed for successful organisation of the programme. It was also decided that under Information director general Deependra Kumar Chaudhari’s coordination a film will be produced on employment generation schemes being undertaken by various departments. Principal secretary Manisha Panwar will be nodal officer for the exhibition.

Additional chief secretaries Ranbir Singh, Radha Raturi and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
