State Capital on Sunday witnessed heavy spells after little rains and would witness more in the next 24 hours, told Met officials on Sunday.
The weekend was with pleasant weather conditions and rains faded but from Sunday weather conditions changed and heavy rainfall with brief spells were witnessed.
On Saturday, the weather conditions were little hot and humid even after heavy spells witnessed in evening and on Sunday the conditions were soothing and during the day rains lashed the state capital. The day temperature was witnessed at 29 degree celsius on Sunday and night temperature at 24 degree Celsius.
Weatherman said that a well marked low pressure area weakened into a low pressure area and now lies over northwest Arabian Sea & neighbourhood and associated cyclonic circulation. The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Kapurthala, Ambala, Pantnagar, Gorakhpur, Bhagalpur, Kolkata and thence south-southeastwards to the centre of Low Pressure Area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal & north Odisha coast are systems which are inducing rainfall. Across the state heavy rainfall faded away and light rainfall was witnessed.
In the past 24 hours Udaipura recorded the highest rainfall at 3 cm, Sohagpur recorded 2 cm of rainfall, Seoni, Bhind, Khaknaar, Pandhana and Nagoda recorded 1 cm of rainfall. According to the forecast light rainfall would be witnessed at several places across the state in the next 24 hours.
