BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo has sharply reacted to the statement of PCC chief Rameshwar Oraon, in which the latter has suggested BJP leaders to speak after studying the biography of Mahatma Gandhi.
Shahdeo said just two days back Oraon had hurt the sentiments of majority community by saying that Mahatma Gandhi had forbidden people to visit temples because temples have garbage and not God.
Shahdeo added Oraon had given reference of Pramod Kapoor’s book ‘Gandhi — Illustrated Biography. The BJP spokesperson said that if Rameshwarji considers the books and ideal one for portraying the life of Mahatma Gandhi, it’s a very sad thing because there are so many objectionable issues with the book.
“Being prejudiced making false statements Pramod Kapoor has written in his book that Gandhi Ji was an autocrat. He has also shamelessly written that he used to hit his relatives. This is very shameful that Congress State president is seeing the life of Mahatma Gandhi through the book of writers like Pramod Kapoor. However, he should ideally read the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi — ‘My experiments with truth’,”
he said.
Pratul said in fact State president of the Congress has exposed his thinking towards the majority society of the entire Congress party. Now he is trying to take the matter in the other direction to cover it up after the condemnation from all four sides.
Pratul said that the public is watching the whole episode carefully and will give a suitable reply to the party making a false statement in the name of Mahatma Gandhi at the appropriate time.
