A memorandum of understanding was signed between Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Government of India, director Rajneesh Agrawal and the state’s Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) director Amit Sinha for setting up startup hub incubation centre.
The start-up hub incubation centre is proposed by STPI in the upcoming building at IT Park to launch and promote the flagship programme and to promote entrepreneurship in the state of Uttarakhand.
The idea is to build a complete ecosystem, enable knowledge exchange, access to funds and the
Indian startup ecosystem as well as to join the Startup India initiative of the Government of India. Under this idea the 1,000 to 1,200 new employments and at least 100 startups would be generated within three years.
Apart from this, there is also a proposal to set up a Center of Excellence in Drone Technologies which will include an advanced laboratory in this domain.
It will work in coordination with the existing Drone Applications Research Center (DARC) established at ITDA.
This center will receive the values in the form of mentorship/domain knowledge from the existing lab.
