Suspected Maoist held

A suspected Maoist, who was reportedly wanted in connection with the killing of two men under Kistaram police station limits of insurgency-hit Sukma, was arrested, police said here on Friday.

According to police, the ultra was identified as Veeti Sukka (21), a resident of Kistaram police station limits.

“Sukka was nabbed by a team of Special Task Force (STF) and district police during a search operation in the jungle near Karimgunda village,” a local police officer said.

Sukka was wanted in connection with the killing of Podiyami Mutta (40) and Kako Lacchu (21). Both of them were abducted and killed by suspected armed Maoists a few months ago, police said.
