On the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Minister of State for Women Welfare Swati Singh met the family members of the Unnao rape victim, who met with an accident near Rae Bareli, and enquired about here well-being.
“The Chief Minister has sent me to enquire about the condition of the girl. The government is with you and will provide the best possible treatment to the patient,” Swati Singh told the family members.
She said that being a woman herself, she could understand the pain and agony through which the family was passing at this point of time.
Swati Singh even asked the family members whether they were satisfied with the treatment and they answered in affirmative.
“All the payments you have made will be reimbursed. The priority is to give her the best possible treatment,” the minister said.
Swati Singh went to the hospital accompanied by information advisor Mrityunjay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Information and Publicity) Awanish Awasthi and State Commission for Women member Rashmi Jaiswal.
The car in which the girl and her family members were travelling met with an accident near Rae Bareli when a speeding truck collided head-on with it.
Earlier, the girl had alleged that she was raped by Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The MLA and his brother are in jail.
Earlier in the day, a delegation of Samajwadi Party leaders led By Madhu Gupta met the family members of the rape victim.
