Energy Minister and Minister in-charge of Jabalpur district Priyavrat Singh and Urban Development and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh launched Madhya Pradesh Association of Women Entrepreneur MAWE’s two-day international conference on “Sustainable Growth of Women Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion SWEEP -2019”, in Jabalpur. Women entrepreneurs from 21 countries and various regions of India took part in the conference.

Energy Minister Singh said that the conference will give an opportunity to small and big women entrepreneurs to move forward on the international stage. The effort which has started from Jabalpur will take women entrepreneurs far ahead. Housewives and small women entrepreneurs will get inspiration and guidance to set up low-capital investment enterprises and self-help groups to undertake economic activities.

The state government will encourage industries, small enterprises and cottage industries set up by women.

The Energy Minister said that women self-help groups are an important link for economic and social development. Self-help groups are doing good work in areas like uniforms, mid-day meal, handicraft,anganwadi etc. These areas will be organized. Energy Minister said that Chief Minister Kamal Nath has invited industrialists to invest in Madhya Pradesh to promote international trade.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh said that women entrepreneurs from different countries are taking part in the conference. Opportunities in small scale industries will be created for the women from rural areas and cities of Madhya Pradesh in coordination with these successful women entrepreneurs. All efforts will be made to make them self-sufficient and self-reliant. Singh said that women empowerment is a priority of the state government.

The challenge is to bring education, awareness and self-reliance in women in rural areas. He said that it is necessary to promote women entrepreneurship for proper balanced development of society.
