The Silk City Surgeons Club in association with the Postgraduate Department of General Surgery, MKCG Medical College Hospital, Brahmapur, on Saturday, organised a seminar at Christian Hospital premises on blood sugar control during surgery .
Chief surgeon, Christian Hospital, Dr Minal Nanda presided over the meet, where consultant endocrinologist, from Diabetes and Endocare Clinic, Brahmapur Dr Sunil Kumar Kota joined as chief speaker.
Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, MKCG, Dr Siba Prasad Pattanaik gave a brief introductory overview of the topic. Dr Kota made a detailed presentation on “Peri operative control of high blood sugars”
Dr Kota explained the audience about the methods of insulin dose calculation and frequent blood sugar monitoring followed by insulin dose adjustment.
Around 80 doctors from different hospitals of Brahmapur participated.
At the end, a question and answer session ensued followed by felicitation of Dr Kota by former Head, Surgery, MKCG, Prof Raja Rao.
