Thick fog hits normal life in State

Dense fog in morning continued to engulf several places across the State including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri affecting normal life and throwing vehicular traffic out of gear on Tuesday.

As the visibility dropped to around 100 metre in most places, motorists faced problems while driving. School students and office goers also faced hardships in reaching their destinations on time.

While people were forced to stay indoors, elderly persons and children faced difficulties due to bad weather condition. On the other hand, cold wave continued to prevail owing to foggy weather.

Meanwhile, the Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here has forecast that the foggy condition is likely to prevail in the State till January 24 and its intensity is likely to decrease slightly after January 25.

Warning in the regard has also been issued by the weather office for  Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Baleswar districts.
