Ailing white tiger ‘Subhranshu’ died at the Nandankanan Zoological Park here on Tuesday.

The big cat was suffering from blood protozoan disease and undergoing treatment under the supervision of zoo veterinarians. However, it died at around 10.15 am on Tuesday. Autopsy of the tiger would be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death, zoo sources said.

Notably, the tiger had stopped taking food in the feeding chamber since October 12.

Subhranshu had been born to Royal Bengal Tiger ‘Maneesh’ and white tigress ‘Sneha’ on July 28, 2014. With its death, the zoo now has 12 male and 13 female tigers.
