TLF-Bhopal at IGRM till Nov 12, focuses on tribals’ contribution

Saturday, 09 November 2019 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Without entering into a debate we can say that tribes/Adiwasis or indigenous people of India are not homogenous entities rather diversity is the prime reality which is reflected in the eco cultural negotiation of their every day’s sustenance.

In spite of various constraints there can’t be any denial of the basic fact that they have contributed immensely in the growth of creative or expressive traditions of India which includes literary (both oral and textual) tradition.

IGRMS, intend to provide an alternative national platform where tribal/ adiwasi writers will join to read, recite their writings or perform their own diverse tradition along with other communities which may reveal the embedded uniqueness of human journey by negating the contested notion of ‘Mainstream’ VS ‘Periphery’ discourse.

Keeping this broad frame within purview we like to initiate the annual event titled “Tribal Literature Festival-2019” (TLF-Bhopal) where we like to have following events: Reading/reciting poetry, short story, traditional storytelling, Seminar on Tribal Literature and Languages: Contribution and concerns, Cultural programmes and Ethnic Cuisine, Exhibition/workshop etc., from November 10 to 12, 2019 at IGRMS, Bhopal.

Along with tribal writers or poets or traditional story tellers, we also like to invite other scholars who are involved in research or engaged with tribal literature, language/script movements and other relevant issues concerning Indian tribes.
