A bag containing Rs 2.16 lakh cash of Indore based man was stolen from Capital hotel under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Tuesday. The cash was stolen from victim’s hotel room.
Police said that the victim Amol Pathe came to Bhopal and was carrying Rs 2.16 lakh cash which was stolen from his hotel room.
The victim, in his complaint, stated that he came to Bhopal to deposit cash in Kotak Mahindra bank in MP Nagar but systems were down due to which he was not able to deposit the money and later rented a hotel room in Gandhi Nagar and during his stay cash was stolen.
The victim is a resident of Indore and came to Vidisha to collect cash which was to be deposited in the MP Nagar bank but before he could deposit the cash, it was stolen. Total loss in the theft was Rs 2.16 lakh, claimed the victim.
Based on the complaint and after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 380 of the IPC and started further investigation.
During the investigation, police have investigated CCTV footages of the hotel and not found anyone who entered and escaped with the cash.
The police would investigate the theft and verify details provided by the victim.
His brother would be questioned in the further investigation. The victim told the police that his brother deals in garments and owns shop in Vidisha.
