Two 6-yr-old girls to be shifted to boarding school

Raipur Collector S Bharatidasan and Senior Superintendent of Police Arif H. Shaikh during joint inspection at Raipur Central Jail on Saturday found 15 children studying in SRT School in jail premises.

Collector directed the Raipur District Education Officer (DEO) to shift two of the girls who have attained the age of six years to a boarding school for higher education.

Both officials also interacted with mothers of two girls and assured them that the administration would ensure education of their daughters in better school.

The officials also interacted with other children present and distributed chocolates and biscuits.

The officials interacted with prisoners, both men and women, regarding their food, health and security along with other arrangements.

Raipur Central Jail prisoners make soap, printed and stitching materials, and iron products. From the sale proceeds, the prisoners are given encouragement amount.

The officials also sought details of        problems faced by      prisoners.
