A two-day technical workshop on February 8 and 9 was organised at the VSSUT Burla by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in cooperation with the Civil Engineering Society.
The ISRO has come up with a software naming FEAST(Finite Element Analysis of Structures) which has reduced the computational time needed to calculate complex mathematical calculations of structures and its efficiency is undoubtedly immaculate.
The indigenous software is much cheaper than other FEM based softwares like ABAQUS, ANSYS, etc. It was based on object oriented programming concept involving complex codes. The presentation about the software was made by Technical Director of SVR InfoTech Subham Chaudhari and KP Mishra. Faculties along with UG and PG students of various departments participated in the programme.
The programme was convened by faculty advisor, Civil Engineering Society Dr Saubhagya Panigrahi. HOD Civil Prof SK Patro, Prof AN Nayak, Dean Academics Prof P C Swain, Dean Students welfare Prof SS Das were among those who attended the first day's programme.
