U’khand conducive for investments: Utpal Kumar Singh

The Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, Utpal Kumar Singh, said that new policies introduced by the State Government in tourism, agriculture, milk, alternative energy and other sectors have created a conducive environment for investment in Uttarakhand.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the State Government has made an effort to create an investment environment in the last two years, in which information was provided in various countries and states about setting industries in Uttarakhand.

The CS was addressing a meeting of the representatives of the Indian industries and investors of Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Many secretaries of Uttarakhand government also attended the meeting.  The investors in the field of organic and contract farming, dairy, logistic, agro processing and home stay attended the meeting.   

The CS further stated that discussions are being held with investors in agro products and agro processing, dairy, tourism and energy.

In context of the State, Agriculture Secretary, Milk and Fisheries Department Minakshi Sundaram informed about opportunities in agro processing and contract farming.

Information on the home stay scheme being operated in the state was given by Tourism Secretary, Dilip Javalkar. He said that there are many natural aesthetic spots in the state where there is ample scope to work under the home stay scheme.

Javalkar further informed about the new tourist places being developed by the government. He said that the objective of the home stay scheme is to generate employment and to develop the means of income for the local youth.

The delegation included director of Orbit Biotechnology Ltd Kin Wah Tam, CEO of China Oil and Food Corporation international Simmar Pal Singh, Director of Homestays of India, Sailza Sood Dasgupta, Chairman, Greeenrgy International Ltd ,Andrew Owens and its CEO Christian Falch of with others.
