The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the State Government has prepared an elaborate and effective plan to provide better health services in mountainous area of the State. He said that the State Government is committed to provide good health care facilities to the people of the State and keeping it in mind, it has launched Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY). Under the scheme, every family of the State is provided a health cover of Rs 5 lakh per year. The CM also opined that improvement of health services in mountainous parts of the State would help in stopping migration.
He was addressing a medical health camp organised by Uttaranchal Punjabi Sabha in Dehradun on Saturday. Inaugurating the camp, the CM congratulated the organisers and praised them for arranging services of specialist doctors from a hospital like Medanta Medicity to treat poor patients free of cost in the camp.
Rawat said that apart from Government, the society too should come forward for development of the State. He said that in Indian tradition, practice of giving importance to the environment has remained prevalent and our traditions have got a scientific basis also.
Terming nature and man as interdependent on each other, he said that every herb has some medicinal value and every person has got some virtues and by harnessing them, society can improve. The CM said that extensive tree plantation activities are going on in different parts of State in the ongoing rainy season and it is matter of satisfaction that children are actively participating in the plantation drives. He opined that the community participation in activities like forestation, water conservation and water harvesting can bring about a major change. The CM said that the Government is working in the direction of rain water conservation in a planned manner. He said that a long term and effective working plan has been devised for lakes, natural water resources and rain water harvesting.
The Mayor of Dehradun, Sunil Uniyal 'Gama', MLAs Harbans Kapoor, Vinod Chamoli and Khajan Das, Baljeet Soni, President of the Punjabi Mahasabha, P S Kochar, district president Rajiv Sachhar and others were present on the occasion.
