The Speaker of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, Prem Chand Agarwal has been appointed as the member of the national level Communication and Information Technology (IT) committee.
Agarwal was appointed by the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the committee which reviews the use of the IT and communication technologies in the work of the legislature and gives necessary recommendations. The other members of the committee are speaker of Assam assembly Hitendra Nath Goswami, speaker of Himachal Pradesh assembly, Rajiv Bindal, Speaker of Telangana, P Srinivas Reddy, Speaker of Andhra Pradesh assembly T Sitaram, Speaker of Puducherry assembly, V P Shivkonthulu and Speaker of Odisha assembly, Suryanarayan Patro.
It is worth mentioning here that the speaker of Uttarakhand has been appointed a member of a committee of the presiding officer for second time.
