In its endeavour to organise a mega and safe ‘Maha-Kumbh ’in Haridwar in the year 2021, the State Government would invite suggestions from different Akhara Parishads. The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said on Saturday that a meeting with the representatives of Akhara Parishads would be organised on October 11. He added that continuous dialogue would be maintained with Saints for smooth organisation of Maha-Kumbh in Haridwar.
The CM made these remarks during his meeting with President of Akhara Parishad, Mahant Naredra Giri, and general secretary Hari Giri at his camp office on the day. The Urban Development Minister, Madan Kaushik, was also present in the meeting.
During the interaction, the CM expressed the willingness of his Government to take support and suggestions for the Maha Kumbh. He said that the Uttarakhand Government is committed to a mega and beautiful Kumbh. Rawat said that the Government would ensure extensive publicity of the Kumbh so that crores of pilgrim arrive in Haridwar for the event. Assuring that proper arrangements would be made for the pilgrims, he said that all necessary arrangements would be completed in Haridwar before start of the Maha Kumbh. Rawat added that an elaborate plan for the event would be prepared in consultation with the saints.
The Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik said that ensuing Maha Kumbh is a big challenge for the State and a work plan is being prepared for its safe and smooth conduction. He claimed that a successful Kumbh would be organised with the blessings of Saints.
The Minister added that special focus would be made on maintaining sanitation during Kumbh. Assuring the full support of Akhara Parishad, Mahant Narendra Giri said that works of permanent nature should start early. He suggested that the places for Akhara parishads should be earmarked early. Giri emphasised that works of permanent nature should be undertaken in the Akharas. He said that a calendar for stay in Akharas should be prepared and suggested that works on parking spots, road broadening and construction of bridges should start with delay. Giri suggested that the special effort should be made to keep Ganga and Haridwar clean during Kumbh.
The chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, technical advisor of CM, Narendra Singh, secretary, urban development Shailesh Bagoli and Inspector General (IG)-Mela Sanjay Gunjyal were present on the occasion.
