Union Health Secretary visit AIIMS

Preeti Sudan, Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India made her maiden visit to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal on Wednesday.

She was accompanied by Dr DS Gangawar, Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, MoHFW, Promila Gupta, Principal Consultant & DGHS Nominee and Sunil Sharma,

Joint Secretary (PMSSY), MoHFW to chair the fourth Standing Finance Committee (SFC) meeting convened at AIIMS, Bhopal. On this occasion, Prof Sarman Singh, Director and CEO of the Institute warmly welcomed the Secretary (Health) and other Members of Standing Finance Committee (SFC).

During her visit, Preeti Sudan, Secretary and Chairperson of Standing Finance Committee (SFC) unveiled the ‘Gandhi Gallery’ at corridor of IPD of AIIMS Hospital and later on took the round of SMTU, Modular Operation Theater, ICU, Emergency unit, etc and inspected several areas of the Hospital with keen interest. She along with other officers also took the round of the Campus. Prof Sarman Singh explained about various facilities available in the Hospital and augmentation of many more facilities in the coming time for providing quality medical care to the people whose number is growing every day.

It is pertinent to mention that the Institute is observing ‘Swachchhta Pakhwada’ from April 1 to 15 and the Chairperson, SFC appreciated the measures taken by all the employees of the Institute to make the cleanliness a matter of habit. The Members of SFC personally looked into the potential areas where the cleanliness should be of high standard. Dr DS Gangwar, AS & FA, MoHFW and Nodal Officer, SAP also took round of the Hospital and inspected ongoing SAP Pakhwada and as per mandate of this year’s SAP, he focused especially on cleanliness of Hospital toilets.

Dr Manisha Shrivastava, Medical Superintendent coordinated the Hospital activities during the visit of dignitaries. Thereafter, Preeti Sudan, the Chairperson of SFC also inaugurated the new building of “Nursing College” where Dr Mala Goswami, Principal Nursing College briefed her about the activities and achievements made by the students who brought laurels to the Institute. To commemorate the occasion, all the dignitaries planted the sapling of plants in the premises adjacent to the College of Nursing.
