Unity in diversity, mutual trust real strengths of India: Nath

Chief Minister Kamal Nath has said that unity in diversity and mutual harmony are the real strengths of India and it will safeguard the future of the country. He said that a new destiny of Madhya Pradesh is being carved out so that the youth get quality education and employment.

The Chief Minister called upon the youth to appreciate the changes taking place across the world so that Madhya Pradesh may also keep pace with the changing world.

Addressing the Yuva Sankalp Varsh 2019-20 event organized by the Department of Higher Education to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi at Ravindra Bhavan here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister paid tribute to him.

The Chief Minister said that harmony has been the hallmark of India's history, civilization and culture from Chandragupta to Emperor Ashoka. He said that the late Rajivji nourished the legacy of harmony. Hence his birth day is celebrated as Sadbhavna Divas.

The Chief Minister recalled the contribution of late Rajiv Gandhi and said that he was a politician who gave the country right direction and vision. He recognized the changes happening around the world and took radical decisions to help India emerge stronger. He said that India's enviable achievements in the field of communications can be attributed to late Rajiv Gandhi.

Today, Country's software engineers, professionals with Google and others spread all over the world are scripting glorious stories and earning respect. The credit for this situation goes to late Rajiv Gandhi. The Chief Minister said that when Rajiv Gandhi was spearheading the computer revolution, he was strongly opposed by the vision deficient self-centred people. They feared the loss of jobs due to advent of computer technology. But late Rajiv ji marched forward. Today the results are quite visible. Millions of youth got new employment opportunities after the communication revolution. Nath said that those who were opposing this technology are taking the credit of making Digital India.

The Chief Minister said that when late Rajiv Gandhi became the Prime Minister, the country was confronted with serious challenges. He overcame the challenges and gave the country a new direction and vision.

Nath asked the youth to appreciate the greatness of India. This is the country where pluralism is the most respected in the world and it is making people living in harmony. Giving example of the Soviet Union that witnessed split despite being a mighty nation. the Chief Minister said that India's real power is its spirit of harmony. The Chief Minister said late Rajivji was a politician whom people loved.

Minister for Higher Education and Youth Welfare Jeetu Patwari said that text books and stationery will be provided free of cost to 10% poor upper caste students of undergraduate and postgraduate classes studying in government colleges. He said that an MoU has been signed between Higher Education and Cambridge Assessment English Cambridge University UK to increase communication skills of the youth and help them get employment opportunities. Besides, a Common Career Portal is also being developed to create a platform for the students and entrepreneurs.
