Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will give away award to Uttar Pradesh for its commendable work in rehabilitating the people with disabilities on December 3.
Uttar Pradesh will get awards in two more categories in the event being organised by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the national capital.
Additional Chief Secretary (Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities) Mahesh Kumar Gupta will receive the award at Vigyan Bhawan on behalf of the state government.
Uttar Pradesh will also be awarded for smooth implementation of Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan.
The website (http://uphwd.gov.in) has been selected as the best portal for being disabled-friendly.
Varanasi district has been selected as the top district for providing the best rehabilitation services.
Union Ministry of Social, Justice and Empowerment has invited Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Empowerment, Uttar Pradesh, to receive the award for best rehabilitation services, while the then District Magistrate Surendra Singh has been invited to receive the award for Varanasi.
