Divisional members of Uttarakhand Roadways Employees Union (UREU) have issued an ultimatum to Uttarakhand Transport Corporation to resolve the issue of their pending salary. Divisional general secretary of UREU Ravinandan Kumar said that if UTC fails to resolve their issue till May 26, they will boycott work and go on strike from May 27 onward.
Kumar said, “Our one and only demand is regarding our pending salaries. After the meeting with general manager Pawan Mehra, our pending salary of March has been paid but our pending salary of April has still not been paid. If our demands are not fulfilled or UTC fails to hold another meeting by May 26, we will be bound to go on a strike.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the members of the other two divisions of UERU in Nanital and Tanakpur have not been paid the pending salary of March.
