Friday, 06 September 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan along with delegates of 72nd conference of WHO regional committee for South East Asia undertook a fitness tour to Lodhi Garden and participated in the yoga protocol programme organised by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Thursday.

The Chairman of NDMC Vijay Kumar Dev and Secretary Rashmi Singh welcomed all the delegates who had come from different parts of South East Asia.

The civic body also launched an ‘Educational Eco Walk’ for school children at Lodhi Garden in order to inculcate awareness and to bring the future generation close to the nature so that they could get an opportunity to learn more about flora-fauna in this garden, recycling of water, cultural heritages and monuments etc.

Dr Vardhan interacted with the students and motivated them to imbibe ‘Fit India Moment’ and to become ambassadors for environment protection.

He also inspected the open gym commissioned by the NDMC for divyang and senior citizens.
