Chhola Mandir police busted a gang of vehicle lifters and recovered vehicles worth Rs 7.5 lakh from their possession; gang would sell stolen vehicles to scrap dealers after failing to sold vehicle for long.
Police said that the arrested have been identified as Mehraz Khan (22) and Nilesh Jadaun (19), both resident of Chola Mandir area and Karan Singh Gurjar (55) of Rajgarh district. Police recovered a jeep and two two-wheelers.
ASP Zone-4 Dinesh Kaushal said in the initial investigation Mehraz and Karan revealed that they had stolen a Bolero pick-up vehicle bearing registration number MP40GA0955 worth Rs 7.5 lakh which was stolen from Blue Moon Colony in Vidisha on August 16 and was owned by Gulfam
The police have also recovered two stolen scooters from their possession which they had stolen from different parts of the city. The accused confessed that they used to sell these stolen vehicles in Rajgarh and if they fail to get buyer for long they would sell vehicle to scrap dealer.
The accused were produced in the court and brought on three-day police remand for further investigation. Police said that more vehicles would be recovered from their possession during further investigation. Meanwhile, Chhola Mandir police have nabbed a wanted accused having a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head and was charged of attempt to murder last year in December.
Police have nabbed Lucky alias Amit Tiwari who attacked Siddhu Sen on December 14, 2018 and went absconding.
