Two parties on Friday started arguing in the middle of the road near the district court premises, which later escalated into a violent fight.
The altercation left a man with head injury and others with multiple bruises. The injured is undergoing treatment at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital. Kotwali inspector Shishupal Negi said that who initiated the argument is a matter of investigation and that further actions will be taken accordingly.
According to eye witnesses, two parties which had come to the court regarding a divorce case started arguing about something.
The verbal argument later escalated into a violent altercation between the two parties, resulting in traffic congestion near the court premises.
Later, after the intervention of local police personnel and people standing nearby the chaotic situation was brought under control.
However, by then one person sustained concussion in his head and several other people had sustained scratches and bruises. By late evening both parties were submitting applications about the incident from their side to the police.
