Saturday, 23 March 2019 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Bharatiya Janata Party might have lost in the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh but its Power greedy leaders keep hitting headlines with their high handed attitude every now and then and latest one is Sironj MLA Umakant Sharma, brother of Vyapam tainted Laxmikant Sharma.

A video had gone viral on social media on Friday in which a livid MLA is seen scolding the police officers during holi-dahan event in Sironj (Vidisha).

“What kind of Hindus you are, you don’t know about Hindu tradition,” said an agitated lawmaker surrounded by supporters who kept raising slogans against police-administration while some of them kept shooing the incident in their cell phone.

Locals claimed that the incident took place during holi dahan and Sironj has a tradition of lighting up holi pyre with a gunshot. However, as model election code of conduct is imposed in the state in the wake of Lok Sabha polls, the police officers objected to the usage of guns in the function.

As the police personnel talked about model code of conduct, the MLA was left incensed pulling up cops badly. He pulled up the Assistant Sub Inspector of Police severely schooling him about the old tradition of the town. However, no action has been taken against the BJP MLA till date.

It is worth mentioning here, the MLA and his supporters has been demanding BJP ticket for Laxmikant Sharma from Vidisha.
