The State Bank of India held the “Vigilance Awareness Week” from October 28 to November 2 in the State.
In the bank’s head office at Bhubaneswar, the integrity pledge was administered by Chief General Manager Praveena Kala.
As a part of observance of the week, the bank conducted elocution, poster, cartoon making, drawing and quiz competitions on the topic “Integrity-A way of life”in seven schools, four colleges and in the Utkal University of Culture.
Besides, the same was done by branches at Cuttack, Sambalpur and other places of Odisha.
During the various competitions, integrity pledge was administered to all those who were present.
On Saturday, a sand sculpture featuring an integrity theme in front of the LHO premises was inaugurated by GM Kala. The sand art was embedded with small plants conveying the message against corruption
Gram Sabhas were also conducted at various villages of and integrity pledge was taken by the villagers. The Government Treasury branch organised a street play on the theme of integrity on November 1. A short video play by Sukanta Kumar Satapathy was areleased on the occasion.
In the concluding ceremony on Saturday, Kala in her welcome address stressed the need of “vigilance awareness” in the bank and steps taken to strengthen vigilance administration. DGM (Vigilance) Ashok M Waghmare among others spoke.
