Jabalpur MP Rakesh Singh here on Wednesday afternoon flagged off Jabalpur- Haridwar train from Jabalpur railway station platform no. 1.
The passengers and citizens welcomed long awaited train which would be a direct train from Jabalpur to Haridwar.
The Jabalpur MP Rakesh Singh flagged off the train at 3.15 pm which was decorated beautifully. The journey was started after blowing leaving whistle.
On the occasion train departed after massive gathering enjoyed and celebrated the commencement of the new train.
Musical band played melodious music and garlanded driver and passengers.
The passengers said that the train would connect Narmada River of Jabalpur with Ganga River of Haridawar.
Waiting eagerly for the commencement of the direct train service, a massive crowd was witnessed at Jabalpur railway station platform no; 1.
Chief PRO West Central Railway Priyanka Dixit said that long pending demand of direct train from Jabalpur to Haridwar has been fulfilled.
The demand was raised for long by the people.
The train would cover a distance of 1081 km covering Sehora, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Lucknow, Sitapur, Muradabad, Bareli and few others stops and reach final destination Haridwar.
Jabalpur Mayor Swati Godbole, Additional General Manager West Central Railway Anshul Gupta, senior police officials of railways and citizens and dignitaries were present at the occasion.
