Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi on Thursday announced to donate Rs 51,000 for construction of a Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Rizvi said the Shia Central Waqf Board had already extended its support for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and had even submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court in this regard
“The Supreme Court verdict in favour of Ram temple was expected and it was the only way the vexed issue could be solved,” the Shia Waqf Board chairman said in a statement issued here.
The donation of Rs 51,000 was given by the film production company owned by Rizvi.
“The donation on behalf of Waseem Rizvi Films would be handed over to Mahant Rakesh Das of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas by Ashfaq Hussain ‘Zia’, a member of the Shia Central Waqf Board,” the statement said.
Whenever the temple was built, Shia Waqf Board would help in its construction, Rizvi said, adding that Ram temple in Ayodhya was a matter of pride for ‘Rambhakts’ all over the world and also in India.
The Shia Central Waqf Board chairman further said that he would donate cash for the construction of the mosque also.
Earlier, the Mahavir Trust of Patna, headed by former IPS office Kunal Kishore, had announced to give Rs 10 crore for the Ram temple, saying the money would be given in instalments of Rs 2 crore per year.
