Wishes pour in on Modi’s 69th b’day

Wednesday, 18 September 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

The satte unit of Bharatiya Janata Party joined the country in celebrating the 69th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with several programmes, including puja, havans and blood donation camps, across the state on Tuesday.

Wishes also poured in on social media networking sites. Taking the lead was Governor Anandiben Patel who tweeted: “Adhering to the ideology of Chariaveti-Chariaveti (always walking), PM Narendra Modi is taking the country on the path of development. On his birthday I wish that the Almighty keeps him in good health and bestow upon him all the success.’’

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is in Gorakhpur, tweeted: “Heartiest wishes to our PM Shri @narendramodi Ji on his birthday. Your dedication, commitment and vision of building a #NewIndia with mantra of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas” always keeps inspiring all of us. I pray for your long, healthy and prosperous life.”

Among the opposition leaders, BSP president Mayawati was first to wish the Prime Minister on his birthday. “Wishing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 69th birthday for his long life,” she posted on Twitter.

BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh said that the Pime Minister has dedicated his life for the welfare of the society. “Serving people is the mission of Prime Minister and we, as party workers, are working hard to ensure we fulfill the dream of Modi ji.”

“I appeal to the party workers to work hard for the uplift of the poor. The way Prime Minister has formulated policies for building houses for the poor and providing them free electricity is commendable. We should ensure that bonafide beneficiaries get the government benefits,” he said.

Different programmes were held at different places. In Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of the PM, BJP celebrated Modi’s birthday in a big way by holding blood donation camps and other programmes. Similar functions were held in Gorakhpur and Lucknow. Some party workers also distributed fruits and sweets among the patients in state-run hospitals.

A BJP leader even donated a gold crown to the Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi on the occasion. In Lucknow, a photo exhibition of the life of PM is being organised at the state BJP headquarters.

As per reports from different parts of the state, puja, havans, and bhandaras were organised and special prayer meetings were held for the long life of the Prime Minister.

Ministers in the Yogi cabinet led celebrations in different regions. Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma took part in programes held under Sewa Saptah organized at Agra while Satish Mahana was in Hardoi. “All the ministers in-charge were present in their respective districts and they took part in the programmes,” BJP media incharge Manish Dixit said.
