A 65-year-old woman was killed while three others were injured after a speeding cluster bus allegedly rammed into an e-rickshaw and then hit an auto in central Delhi's Desh Bandhu Gupta road area on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Bhago Devi (65) while the injured have identified as Anil (22), Siddarth (22) and one another.
According to a senior police official, a police control room (PCR) call regarding the incident was received at around 9 AM on Monday following which an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) was rushed to the spot.
"A woman, who was returning from a nearby shop, was among the four injured. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where the woman succumbed to injuries while others are still undergoing the treatment in the hospital," said the senior police official.
"The bus driver identified as Joginder Singh (48) is arrested after registration of a case under appropriate sections at Karol Bagh Police Station. Initial investigation suggests that the accident occurred after the brakes of the bus failed and the driver lost control over the bus.”said the senior police official.
