Work on mission mode for 100 % literacy in U’khand: CM

Work will be undertaken on mission mode to achieve cent per cent literacy in Uttarakhand. Stating this, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat directed officials concerned to work in a planned manner to achieve cent per cent literacy within a set time frame. Rawat said this while chairing a meeting to review execution of the CM’s announcements here on Thursday.

Rawat said that time frame should be fixed at all levels for execution of the announcements. The zero budget announcements should be implemented immediately. The help of local administration and public representatives should be taken in cases where land related issues are being faced. He said that the task of making Uttarakhand fully literate should not be limited to the education department.

The cooperation of school and college students, Anganwadi and ASHA workers among others can also be taken for this. Nodal officers should be nominated at each level and their responsibility should be fixed. Reviewing execution of his announcements, he said that there has been some improvement but the work should be expedited further.

He said that the civil aviation department should identify locations across the state where helipads can be built according to requirement. The sports department should expedite necessary procedures for construction of sports stadia across the State. The detailed project report of the eco park to be built at Muni ki Reti should be prepared as soon as possible. Further, the Satpuli to Delhi bus service should also be started at the earliest. Rawat said that work plans should be drafted for adventure tourism in Kosi barrage, developing Munsyari as tourism destination and Ransi as tourism village. The services of high level experts should be taken for construction of Yamunotri ropeway. Agriculture department officials informed that phased ork is being undertaken to make Uttarakhand an organic state with 3,900 clusters having been selected so far. Fund has been approved to develop Munsyari as a hub of organic agriculture while collection centre is to be built for purchase of local organic produce in Darma and Vyas valley.

Home department officials informed that CCTV cameras will be installed in Haridwar for the 2021 Kumbh Mela. Sports department officials informed that land had been selected in most places for stadia and mini stadia while a 200 metre track is being built in Gairsain. Higher education

 officials informed that a report had been submitted by the committee formed for facilitating e-libraries in State colleges.

Necessary equipment has been given to 10 colleges while the process is underway for the rest of the colleges.
