Over 200 bus drivers and conductors from various CBSE affiliated schools participated in the day long workshop organised at Delhi Public School Ranchi on Sunday.
The aim of the workshop was to make the bus drivers and conductors aware about the traffic rules, regulation and safety measures. The attendees of the workshop were informed about the traffic rules and symbols with the help of documentaries. Chief Guest of the programme was district transport officer of Ranchi Sanjeev Kumar. Addressing the audience he discussed about the new road safety rules implemented by the Government of India which came on effect from Sunday. He said, “These rules are not for earning more revenue from fine and penalty but is for the safety of every person commuting using any motor vehicle be it a two-wheeler or a heavy commercial vehicle.”
Kumar also pointed out that he has notices some school bus drivers rash driving in traffic and requested them to drive safely. “You should show people that school buses always obey road safety rules and drive safely,” he told the bus drivers. On this occasion principal of the school, Ram Singh welcomed the Chief Guest and requested the bus drivers and conductors to follow all the rules and regulations which are taught in the workshop. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Rakesh Sharma, Santosh karn and Sanjay kumar from Force Motors, Wasim and Abhay from Ranchi Road Safety and also executives from Honda Motors who gave training to all the bus drivers and conductors about rules and regulation while driving in city traffic.
The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by DP Tripathy and Krishna Dawadi. The attendees seemed happy with the information they received at the workshop and said that this will help them know, understand and follow the rules in a better way and avoid accidents.
