The secretary to Governor, R K Sudhanshu has said that universities provide a suitable environment for development of innovation and creativity. He was addressing a one day workshop on entrepreneurship development and awareness at Doon University here on Wednesday.
The workshop was organised under the aegis of Central for Public Policy of the university with the help of Micro, Small, Medium, Enterprises (MSME) government of India.
Sharing success stories of Apple, Oyo and PTM, the secretary said that they are the examples of how successful enterprises are created with minimum capital.
He said that the state government has many schemes which promote entrepreneurship among youths. Sudhanshu also elaborated these schemes in detail. The director of MSME, Vijay Kumar said that the department helps youth in setting up small enterprises. He said that the department had made the process of registration for setting up a business online which is helping the budding businessmen.
Kumar said that there are many options before the youth to start business but they should choose the business in which one has interest. He held an elaborate discussion on finance and availability of easy loan for setting up industry.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University C S Nautiyal said that the objective of the workshop is to make the students Job providers from job seekers. Large number of faculty members and students participated in the workshop.
