Youth attacked with sharp-edged weapons

Fuelled with old enmity a 24-year-old youth was attacked by four miscreants with sharp-edged weapons and wooden sticks at Bhainskhedi under Gunga police station police station area on Wednesday evening.

Police said that a youth was rushed to hospital after he was attacked by four armed miscreant at farms in Bhainskhedi. The injured was identified as Sumer Vishwakarma who was attacked by his uncle and cousins with sharp edged weapons and wooden sticks.

In the initial investigation, the victims were identified as Neeraj his father Narayan, Santosh and Sanjay. Neeraj is victim’s cousin. Neeraj and Narayan attacked victim with sharp edged weapon in victim’s head.

In his complaint, the victim told the police that he was crossing his farm and Neeraj started a verbal spat and when he opposed Neeraj, Narayan, Santosh and Sanjay attacked with sharp edged weapons and escaped the spot.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC. Police found that the dispute was due to boundaries of the farm and path between their farms which was common to reach farms.

The victim is undergoing treatment at Shri Sai hospital and is under observation. Search has been intensified for the absconding accused who are still at large.

Police have increased deployment of police personnel and as the victim’s friends and family would try to settle score with the accused and their family members. The victim and accused are farmers and have old dispute over farms.
