Youth attempts suicide before CM house’

Police on Wednesday rescued a youth, who attempted to commit suicide in front of the Chief Minister’s residence Naveen Niwas here.

On-duty Special Security Battalion (SSB) personnel overpowered him.

The identity of the youth could not be ascertained immediately.

Sources said the youth attempted to end his life in front of the Chief Minister’s residence after failing to get his Plus Two examination certificate though a decade has passed since he had appeared at the examination in 2008.

The youth said, “It’s been 10 years since I passed the examination, but I have not received my certificate. I am frustrated now. I will end my life if I don’t get the certificate at the earliest.” Police detained the youth for questioning.
