Youth commits suicide in Bokaro

Wednesday, 15 May 2019 | PNS | Bokaro

Upset over getting fewer marks in class 10 Board exam in comparison to his younger brother a youth committed suicide in Bokaro Steel City. His body was fished out form cooling pond last night, police said.

“Subham Kumar (15), a resident of Sector 9D Quarter No. 1100 under Harla police station, killed himself as he scored fewer marks in board examination. Subham got 59 per cent marks, while his younger brother Suraj got 85 per cent marks,” said Jai Govind Gupta OC of Harla Police Station.

Subham left his house on May 11 after leaving a suicide note. “Shubham wrote that, Mummy-Papa I could never be able to score good marks in exams so I am leaving. If anybody asks tell them that Shubham’s feet were slipped and he died,” added Gupta.

On May 11 we have received a written complaint from the parents of the deceased and filed a missing report. Cops were in search of Subham and found his body floating in the cooling pound yesterday, said OC.

Subham’s father is an ex-army man and presently working as a contract worker in a private company at Bokaro Steel Plant.
