A body of a 25-year-old youth was recovered from a field near the Samara slum under the Tangarapali police station in Sundargarh district on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sushil Oram of Samara slum area.
Sources said Sushil went outside on Sunday night and did not return home.
In the morning, some locals first spotted the body with multiple injuries in his abdomen, head and neck.
Though the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that some miscreants might have killed him.
On receiving information, the Tangarapali police and IDL police outpost personnel along with a forensic team reached the spot and began an investigation.
