First time in the history of Kumbh Mela, a delegation of 181 countries, including Pakistan took holy dip in Prayagraj.
Speaking to the pioneer, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Member of Parliament (MP) Rajya Sabha and Chairman, Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR) has said that with unique kind of participation from across the globe, Indian has shown to the world, a land of “Spiritual Democracy”, where delegation of different nations and religions gathered and will deliver a message about United India at different international forums.
Delegations from Singapore, Laos, Brazil, Cape Verde, Japan and other counties narrated their experiences about their spiritual journey from Yoga to holy dip in Prayagraj.
Addressing the foreign delegates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I request you all that when you go back to your country, you spread the word about India’s culture and heritage and your own positive experience in India.”
External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj, delivering her welcome remark, said that we implemented PM Modi’s idea and for the first time ever we have gathered one citizen each from so many countries in the world for Kumbh.
Al Wali Valdoon Muhamad, a delegate, from Djibouti , said that he learnt about Kumbh from you Tube channels, but, this was the first time when he experienced spiritual connection not virtually but by practicing Yoga and bath at Paryagraj.
Another delegation from Singapore, Sim Sock Yan, said that taking dip in Kumbh prevailed a sense of purification. “We heard about India and it’s culture in books or on internet only, this experience is different because when you see massive people across the globe there, you feel connected,” said Yan.
