Do we realise that our lives are quite complex? Except for children, most people come to this realisation sooner or later. It is no wonder that we are confused, disturbed, etc because we do not know the right answers. People speculate helplessly. This might happen or this may not. Some get helplessly obsessed with what is considered very important to them. A few fear the worst also. And many act in wrong ways and get into trouble.
However, there is someone who can help, if approached properly. He is God. He is our own. Really, He is all for us. God does not need anything from us; He is complete in Himself. Yes, He gets a sense of satisfaction if we are doing fine, just like a parent will feel, whose children are doing well.
I will cite an example of how complex our lives are. There is a couple. Both have full-time jobs, necessary for maintaining themselves well in a metropolitan city. They have a son, who is growing up and needs company. They have a maid, who looks after the kid while they are away doing their professional duties. Is this the right answer? Is the maid, who is almost illiterate, the right company for the boy? Will this arrangement work in the long-term?
There is an answer if one seeks help, especially from God. This couple, unknown to them, has a distant relative on the wife’s side, who is a widow and is living by herself. She is a retired school teacher. She also needs company, with her age catching up. If one is linked with God, solutions come because God is omniscient and can really help and provide the perfect solution.
If the couple approaches this woman the right way, she may be persuaded to come and live with them. Not only will she be the perfect company for the child, but also will not be a financial burden on the couple. This woman gets a full-fledged family to live with and the couple gets everything desirable. They can even opt for another child with a proper person taking care of them in their absence or otherwise.
God’s creation is very large. He always has answers for all kinds of situations. We are never helpless if we are linked with God. Such is the cosmic design. Personally, I seek all kinds of help from God when a new problem surfaces. The first thing I do is to approach God for guidance. Not that I am not thinking of a possible solution but I have limitations, like the couple had, not knowing of their distant relative. God doesn’t have any such limitations, being omniscient; He invariably provides the perfect solution. God helps in many other ways as well, if properly prayed to. What does He lack, being omnipotent? One has to experience to believe whatever I am stating.
We all need peace. This only God can provide because one must feel secure about one’s future, and such security can be ensured by God only, no other. Along with peace and security comes genuine happiness, which we call sukh. What we know as happiness is invariably sense pleasures, which are temporary and, ultimately, do not satisfy; one seeks more. God’s connection works on the fear factor also; one progressively becomes cautious not fearful or depressed. In spite of all these, there must be some toleration; God gives that strength. And He pardons when we deserve such a favour.
How does one get such boons? One must have faith in the existence of God. Then, one must treat Him as one’s own, not some entity far removed from our affairs. He is always near us and we can renew our connection any time. He doesn’t mind having been neglected for long. Believe me, God is very special. Take advantage soon.
