Sab TV’s show Jijaji Chhat Per Hain is set for a twist that will keep the viewers hooked. MUSKAN BAKSHI tells you more

Comedy shows always entertain and therefore people love to watch them again and again. This is what makes it easy for the producers to experiment with the genre.

The latest one in the history of comedy shows is Jijaji Chhat Per Hain which went on air from January 2018. The show is now set for a twist — Elaichi (Hiba Nawab) is going to secretly marry Pancham (Nikhal Khurana).

This twist, the makers opine with give the show a TRP boost. Nawab tells you that the twist was a much needed one. “To get to know why we came up with the twist in the show, audience have to watch it. For now, all I can say is that it was much needed,” she tells you.

But she signed on the dotted line and said yes to the show. Before signing the show, Nawab was sceptical whether it will be able to attract the audience.

“I was not sure that whether this show will be as good as Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain. But then I decided to give it a try and it has worked out well till now. The show is popular especially among the children. I was also unsure about my character’s name — Elaichi.  Now, when I get so much of appreciation for the role, I feel  happy that my decision of being a part of this show has turned out well,” she explains.

Khurana says when he first got to know about his character, he was reminded of Shah Rukh Khan’s character in Chamatkar. “My first reaction after getting to know about Pancham was that it is similar to Shah Rukh Khan’s character in Chamatkar. I was excited to play this role. Ever since I started playing this role, I have been evolving as an artist,” he says.

The show is a brainchild of Sanjay Kohli. He is also the man behind Bhaag Bakool Bhaag, F.I.R and Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain. Kohli believes in putting out shows that have the potential the bring the  family together. When he started making shows on comedy, he was confident that his shows will tickle the funny bone.

“Making people laugh is a challenge but if done right it will take you to heights. My shows target housewives and children. They are the ones who enjoy these shows the most. This is because most people are busy with work and reach home late. The only people who can enjoy such shows are women and children. Also, I make them in a manner where this audience can relate to it. It needs creativity and uniqueness,” he tells you.

Kohli has always enjoyed making comedy shows because he feel it is his duty to make people laugh.

Both the shows — Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain and Jijaji Chhat Per Hain have been doing extremely wel.

Therefore, as of now Kohli has no plans of coming up with a new rib-tickling show but he has definitely something on cards. Is he stepping into the digital space? We will have to wait and watch.
