With the arrest of three persons, including an Afghan National, a terror module funded by underworld was busted by Delhi Police on Saturday. The special cell of the Delhi Police has arrested three suspects for planning to kill some members of a socio-religious organisation in South India, with a motive of causing riots in the country.
The three suspects have been identified as Muhthasim CM (41) alias Thaslim aresident of Kerela, Sheikh Riyajuddin (32) a resident of Madangir in Delhi and Wali Mohammed Afghan (45) a resident of Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan.
According to Pramod Singh Kushwaha, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, on January 9, specific inputs were received that some India based operatives of underworld on the instructions of their handlers, based abroad are planning to kill important persons in South India following which a team was formed and on January 11, two persons, identified as Wali Mohammed and Riyazudin, were arrested from Delhi with one pistol and three live cartridges.
"Simultaneously, one more person identified as Muhthasim was also arrested from Kasaragod, Kerala with the assistance Kasaragod Police," said the DCP.
"During interrogation the accused revealed that accused Muhthasim and Wali Mohammed Saifi are known to each other since their days in Dubai as both of them were having their business there. Muhthasim had planned to eliminate important persons in South India and for this purpose he roped in Wali Mohammed Saifi who in turn roped in Riyajuddin and thereafter procured weapons for the task," said the DCP adding that further investigation is going on.
According to sources, underworld is allegedly behind the conspiracy to kill the political leaders and is funding such people to cause riots in the country.
