CISF inaugurates water conservation plan

At the CISF campus, Rohini, Rajesh Ranjan, director general of CISF inaugurated water conservation plan (Jal Shakti Abhiyan) and its residential complex.

It is a matter of pride that Ministry of Home Affairs has nominated CISF as Nodal Agency among the CAPFs for initiating awareness amongst the general public towards Jal Shakti Abhiyan. This is a time bound water conservation campaign, whose main objective is to create awareness among the masses about the benefits of water conservation.

The director general flagged off the motor cycle rally to educate the general public about renovation of water bodies, harvesting rainwater and reuse of waste water. A mass tree plantation was also held at the occasion. The DG along with CISF officers, their families and more than 500 school children and teachers took part in the mass tree plantation drive. He emphasised that the new generation have to come forward and join the campaign for saving water and greener India.

Recently, the strength of CISF unit, DMRC has been increased by more than 5,000 personnel. It has become the largest unit. In order to provide accommodation to the force personnel, 1,298 quarters at have been purchased from DDA. Various facilities — Mess, Medical, Gymnasium, Crèche, Canteen, Children Park and much more have been made available.  One thousand five hundred and fifty six family quarters for have also been purchased at Bapraula. In addition to this, 261 acres of land is being acquired at village Mandwar, Sohna, Gurugram, for construction of residential complex for the CISF personnel.

CISF as part of CAPFs team, in its maiden attempt, is going to undertake Mt Everest Expedition in March-April, 2020. In order to provide CISF team members adequate experience, an expedition to Mt Satopanth is being launched. The peak is located in Gharhwal, Uttarakhand.

The main objective of the expedition is to hoist tricolour and CISF flag with theme of “clean and safe Himalayas” and to encourage them in the healthy pursuit of adventurous outdoor sport.
