Flashback Fridays

With Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, another old Hindi film song makes a comeback in a new avatar, yet again. By Team Viva

Actor Anil Kapoor described Manisha Koirala in the film 1942: A Love Story with the song Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga... The iconic RD Burman number from the film which released in 1994 will once again feature in the film Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga, which incidentally stars Anil  and that too after 24 years. The glimpses of the song can be seen in the trailer.

A source reveals that, “Anil Kapoor who is playing Sonam Kapoor’s father in the film is excited to once again recreate the same song in the current film after 24 years. The song is very close to the actor and is one of his all-time favourites. The makers of the film along with Anil Kapoor will launch the song on January 8.”

Anil is one of the rare actors who is getting an opportunity to recreate his own song on a big screen with his movie.

Apart from this, Anil kapoor also recreated magic with the song Badan Pe Sitaare in the film Fanney Khan, the song which originally starred dancing sensation Shammi Kapoor.

Fox Star Studio has produced the film alongwith Vidhu Vinod Chopra which is directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar. It is slated to release on February 1.

Remix (Simmba)

Original (Tere Mere Sapne)

The Aankh Maare song from Simmba is explosive, to say the least. The fun track is picturised on Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan and features a cameo from Arshad Warsi (who was in the original song as well), Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu. Also, Karan Johar.

Sung by Mika Singh and Neha Kakkar, it is quite slow on beats when compared to the high on energy original version which featured Warsi. While the new version felt like a bit of drag, the good part was the presence of Golmaal gang. Seeing Tusshar Kapoor’s Lucky singing the same song is quite hilarious. But the icing on the cake was to see Arshad Warsi shaking a leg and lipsync to Kumar Sanu’s voice — the singer of the original 1996

Remix (Raees)

Original (Qurbani)

In the remixed version of Laila main laila, Sunny Leone’s electrifying dance moves and SRK’s fight sequence, managed to capture the magic of the original song to some extent. Since both are picturised as club dances, the effect was not diluted.

Remix (Badrinath ki Dulhaniya)

Original (Thaanedar)

In case of Tamma tamma loge, the situation is a club scene where this retro number is being played. This seems to justify the inclusion of the remix version of the original and our current stars get to dance and pay a ‘tribute’ to the original song. In fact, after watching Varun Dhawan’s pleasing moves, Sanjay Dutt’s awkward dance movements in Thaanedar do look funny.

Remix (Queen)

Original (Anhonee)

Another song which became a rage was the remixed version of the Asha Bhonsle number Hungama ho gaya from the film Anhonee which was included in the 2012 super-hit Queen. The remix song has some lines from the original song and soon became an instant hit when released.
